From Khamenei to Soleimani: Key Iranian Officials Reported Killed So Far

As the conflict intensifies, Israel claims to have eliminated several high-ranking Iranian figures, though not all reports have been independently confirmed by Iran.

According to Iranian state media, the latest reported casualty is Gholamreza Soleimani, commander of the Basij paramilitary force.

Israel has also claimed it killed senior political figure Ali Larijani, though Tehran has not confirmed this claim.

Below is a list of the most prominent Iranian officials reported killed since the start of the war:

Ali Khamenei — Iran’s Supreme Leader since 1989, reportedly killed in initial U.S.-Israeli strikes that marked the beginning of the conflict.
Ali Shamkhani — Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council and a key advisor to Khamenei, reportedly killed in the same wave of attacks.
Mohammad Pakpour — Commander within the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), considered a central figure in suppressing recent protests.
Aziz Nasirzadeh — Iran’s Defense Minister, who had previously threatened retaliatory strikes against U.S. bases in the Middle East.
Mohammad Shirazi — Head of the Military Bureau since 1989, responsible for coordinating between the Supreme Leader and senior armed forces commanders.
Abdol Rahim Mousavi — Chief of Staff of Iran’s armed forces, who succeeded Mohammad Bagheri following his reported death during last year’s 12-day conflict with Israel.
Esmaeil Khatib — Iran’s Minister of Intelligence.

These reported killings, if confirmed, would represent an unprecedented blow to Iran’s military and political leadership structure.

“The scale of these losses, particularly at the highest levels of leadership, is without modern precedent in Iran,” a regional security analyst noted.
